Homework and TEST CHANGE

Hello all!

I hope everyone has been enjoying this lovely weather! I have some very important notes about homework this week:

Reading Homework - DO IT!
Reading homework IS HOMEWORK! The class and I had a talk about this last week, as over 50% of them did not do ANY reading homework!! YIKES!
EVERY night, students are expected to read for 20 minutes or more AND LOG THEIR READING in their My Reading Life folder! (This will soon go up to 30min!) Any night that an actual paper comes home for homework, it will be in this folder as well. You can see days they have reading papers for homework in their agenda marked as "Reading WS". Even if it is just writing a sticky note, the students ARE expected to write a sticky note and bring it to school the next day! These homeworks are extensions of what we are doing in class and help your student to practice reading skills and apply critical thinking on their own outside of Reading Class.

Please be sure to reinforce this at home with your student and ensure they are doing this as part of their nightly homework. With word study activities being done in school, having a week to turn in math homework, and almost no Social Studies/Science assigned work other than studying, they should be having time to read at home. Please let me know if your student is having some issue with this and we can chat.

Science Test Moved
I wanted to note that I am MOVING our Science test from this Wednesday to this FRIDAY. Please note the change in your student's agenda, and use the extra time to study!
